About Dallas, Georgia:
Dallas is a small city in Paulding County Georgia, in the state’s Northeastern section. The centerpiece of this historic preservation is the Pickett’s Mill Battlefield which is widely recognized as one of the best preserved Civil War battlefields in the nation. Residents of Dallas take great pride in their arts and cultural amenities and there’s no more significant facility in the city than the restored Dallas Theatre which now serves as a center for fine arts. First opened in 1927, the theatre was a popular spot for moviegoers in the early part of the 20th century until it burned down in 1948. It was reopened soon after but was closed again in 1965. In 1999, a local group set out to restore the theatre as a fine arts community center. Today it serves as the host of several concerts, stage plays, musicals, and other live performances.
Schools in Dallas are administered through the Paulding County School District which oversees 33 schools with just under 20,000 students. There are 19 elementary schools, nine middle schools, and five high schools under the district’s care. Amongst the higher rated schools in Dallas are Floyd L. Shelton Elementary School at Crossroad, Lena Mae Moses Middle School, Roland W. Russom Elementary School, and Sammy Mcclure Sr. Middle School.
