About Gainesvill, Georgia:
Gainesville is a midsize city in Hall County Georgia, in the Northeastern section of the state. It’s located approximately 50 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta and 100 miles southwest of Greenville, South Carolina. With a population of 35,000, Gainesville is the largest of the six Hall County cities. Clark’s Bridge Park on Lake Lanier was the site for rowing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and is used to this day by local rowing clubs and aspiring rowers. Here you’ll find championship competitions regattas and festivals held throughout the year.

The Arts Council is home to some of the best performing and visual and literary arts in Northeast Georgia. Here you can enjoy a relaxing evening of intimate jazz, taking in one of their movies on the lawn, or enjoy a stunning performance by the symphony. For those who love the visual arts, there is plenty to taken at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, as well as the Brenau University Galleries.

The Gainesville City District has five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
