Nestled in the middle of seven hills, Rome is a unique major city in the state of Georgia. It is the county seat and the largest city in Floyd County. These include the Etowah Indian Mounds located on the northern shore of Etowah River and the Rome Clock Tower on the corner of East 5th Avenue and East 2nd Street. Museums in the area include Chieftains Museum or Major Ridge Home, which is dedicated to the history of the Cherokee, and the Martha Berry Museum in honor of Berry College founder.
