One of this is the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Iris City Arts and Crafts Festival. The annual, two-day event, which is held in April around City Park, provides great local entertainment. It attracts numerous artists and craftsmen as well as clubs and organizations that seize the opportunity to raise funds for charitable projects.

Another major attraction is the Kiwanis Spalding County Fair held every October. This event not only appeal to the old, but also to the young with games and rides part of exciting activities at the event. These events and several others also give attendees opportunity to be awed by the distinctive architecture of the historic Griffin downtown.
