Reynolds Lake Oconee is a picturesque community along Lake Oconee boasting amazing natural landscape and excellent amenities. City residents enjoy convenient access to numerous places around. The community is linked to Union Point in the east and Madison in the west by U.S. Route 278, which passes through its center. Also in the proximity of Greensboro is Interstate 20, which leads to Augusta in the east and Atlanta in the west.

 

The Greene County School District provide pre-school to grade-twelve education to residents of Greensboro. It operates elementary schools, middle school, high school and charter school. These include Greensboro Elementary School, Anita White Carson Middle School and Greene County High School. As of June 2010, the school district had 158 full-time teachers and more than 2,280 students.

 

Greensboro is rich in Southern history and traditions. It boasts charming antebellum homes and churches. The Gaol, one of the oldest penal facilities in the state of Georgia, can be found in this community. The city’s downtown area is home to several quaint buildings, some of which serve as gifts stores and antique shops.
