Background, General Information and Weather in Evans, Georgia –
Evans is located in Columbia County, Georgia and is a suburb of Augusta. Evans is also part of the Augusta Metropolitan Area. Evans also borders Martinez, Georgia. The population here back at the 2000 census was 17,727; then at the 2010 census the population was just under 30,000. As of the most recent non census poll taken, the population here in Evans was just under 35,000. According to the United States Census Bureau, Evans is a total of 26.6 square miles in size. Approximately 1.3 miles of that is water. The weather here varies throughout the year greatly. The hottest part of the year here goes from May 23rd until September 17th when the daily average high is just about 85 degrees. The low for this time is around 73 degrees. The coolest part of the year here goes from the end of November until the end of February when the daily average high is around 63 degrees. The low for this time is just under 40 degrees. If you do not like snow, Evans is the place for you. There is an average of one inch of snowfall here per year which is way under the national average of 26 inches per year. Evans does receive a decent amount of rain though. You can expect to see around 45 inches of rainfall here per year. Evans also gets more than 220 sunny days per year. During the year you can expect to see the weather vary from 39 degrees during the winter up to about 92 in the summer. You will rarely see the temperature drop below 26 degrees or go above 98. So here in Evans you will get to experience the four seasons with very little snow. This is great for people who hate having to shovel their way out of their front door to get to their car. “Bell Tower” is a future subdivision going in here in Evans. Here you can purchase land to develop your home on. The lots range in price and size. Lots are available up to five acres in size. Once this development is all done there will be 67 homes here set against the peaceful backdrop of the Savannah River. One of the perks of living here is that you can kayak on the 12 acre Bell Tower Peninsula. This subdivision is going be extremely exclusive so get in while you can! If you do not want to build your house from the ground up, you can take a look at the “Riverwood Plantation” subdivision. Here you will find houses that are quite large and have at least four bedrooms. Most of the homes here have 6 bedrooms or more in fact. These homes are absolutely stunning and feature high end finishes like granite countertops, beautiful hardwood floors, plush carpet in the bedrooms, walk in closets and eat in kitchens. You have to check out the homes in the “Riverwood Plantation” when thinking of moving to Evans. Evans Towne Center Park –
Evans Towne Center Park is one of the most popular spots here in Evans. Years ago this location was known as Kroger Field and in 2004 “Evans Towne Center Park” came to be the new name after some significant construction took place here. Recently the park gained a pavilion that goes by a very famous name. The “Lady Antebellum Pavilion” opened back in July of 2018 and since then has become the place to see some pretty big names in the music industry. Acts like Lady Antebellum as well as Keith Urban, Willie Nelson, The Drifters, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Charlie Daniels have all performed here. This venue will see between 60 and 70 days of organized events a year. When these events (mainly concert) take place, people from all over head here to enjoy a night out with friends. If you live here in Evans, this is truly one of the biggest perks. Most people have to travel pretty far to get to a concert. But here in Evans, the concert comes to you!
Evans, Georgia is an amazing place to live with great weather as well as a booming housing market.
